Yesterday I wrote about posters. To pick up where I left off...
I was holding on to some of these damn things for over 20 years. If I wasn't going to hang it now, I don't think I was going to hang them ever. So some of them I just threw away.
This begs a question though: are old posters worth any money? Some are, some aren't. As with any odd item, its value all comes down to what somebody is willing to pay for it. If it's something that's in demand and hard to find, then obviously it will fetch more than a buck on eBay. If it's in a good condition, even better. A lot of my posters unfortunately had rips, tape marks, etc. More importantly, some of them just had no demand for them. So I threw those out. I did however keep some of the other ones. But at least now I only have one cardboard tube in my closet with 10 posters, instead of 10 cardboard tubes that keep falling on me like logs in Pitfall.
Do posters look pretty tacky on walls? Yeah, kinda. But that doesn't mean you have to get rid of posters. My suggestion for posters is simple: FRAME THEM! They do sell poster frames that will fit your posters. Be sure to take some measurements of the posters you love before you go shopping for frames. I still sleep in a room that has posters in it, but at least now I've kept it down to under a dozen, and they look more "adult".
I'd show you some pics, but as I type this blog, I'm in a hurry to leave. Bye.
