This site was largely inspired by (and often makes references to)...

"Clutter's Last Stand by Don Aslett

It's sometimes needlessly condescending and needlessly jesus freaky...but still, a great book for what it is. Buy it used and insanely cheap on Half.com

So what is this site all about?

Hello, my name is Bill, and I'm a pack rat.

Seriously, I own so much stuff that...well gee, any really witty line that I could put here would be an understatement.

I've created this blog to document my combat against clutter.  There are photos, video, related anecdotes, philosophical ramblings, and plenty of strange examples of items that will have me asking "Why the @#%&!! haven't I gotten rid of this yet?!?"  The books Clutter's Last Stand and For Packrats Only by Don Aslett have been very inspirational in this quest, and I'll be quoting them from time to time.

I also use this blog for other general blogging stuff like music reviews, travel, comedy, the other projects I work on, and so on.  Though for the most part, it's all about "my stuff".

The title "A Place for My Stuff" comes from the George Carlin album and routine of the same name.  I've been a life-long, die-hard George Carlin fan, and that's arguably my all-time favorite comedy album.
